Beer Festival Bruges

January 20, 2019 - 10:22

This international beer festival, located right in the heart of medieval Bruges, sees over 400 beers from 80 breweries transform the city into one big bar for a whole weekend.

Throughout the years, Bruges has earned a reputation for its local beers and this festival offers a chance to taste a range of different brews from across Belgium. The festival takes place in a heated tent right on Bruges' Markt Square, in the courtyard of the Belfry, the City Halls, the Provincial Court and the picturesque Burg Square. Best of all, entry to the festival is free. Flemish reds, lambic, abbey and Trappist: if you've ever been curious to learn more about Belgian beer and brewing, this is a great place to start.

Access to the festival is totally free. No tickets are required.

If you wish to sample delicious beers, do the following.

Packages can only obtained in the lower hall of the Bruges Town halls.

You can purchase additional tokens at the various points of sale at a cost of € 2 per token. This corresponds with 15 cl of beer which you are served at a brewer of your choice.

Do not forget:

The postcard is stamped, so it can be filled in and personalised. After that, you can deposit it in the special post box, and the BAB vzw (Bruges Independent Beer Tasters) will send them to the address you indicated!

After your visit, you can take the festival glass home as a souvenir of the 11th Bruges Beer Festival, or you can bring it back to the information stand, allowing BAB vzw to sponsor various charities by 3 Euro per returned glass.
