The government has set rules to stop the spread of coronavirus. Follow these rules. This way, you will avoid becoming ill or making others ill.

    Important information for all visitors

  • Wearing a face mask is mandatory in all public buildings and in the centre of the city (24h/24) (station surroundings: from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.). There is a curfew between midnight and 5AM.
     
  • Hotels, B&B’s, holiday homes and camper sites may remain open. Campsites are closed to tourists until at least December 13th. The following measures apply to the accommodations that may remain open for the next weeks:
    • Restaurants and bars in hotels are closed. However, food may be served in the room.
    • All communal facilities (wellness, swimming pool...) are closed.
    • The maximum number of persons per holiday home, guest room, hotel room or other individual rental unit is limited to the family members and one close contact of the family.
       
  • The non-essential shops are closed. Only food shops, supermarkets and pharmacies remain open. It is allowed to shop with a maximum of two people and this for a maximum of 30 minutes.
     
  • Restaurants and cafés are closed. Some restaurants offer (until 10 PM) meal delivery and take-away meals. 
     
  • All museums and tourist attractions are closed.
     
  • The horse-drawn carriageshorsetrambicycle carriages and sightseeing minivans don’t make tours. The tourist boats don’t make tours neither.
     
  • Touristic tours with guides are not allowed.
     
  • Theatres and cinemas in Bruges are closed.
     
  • The taxis run without a limit on the number of passengers. Wearing a face mask is mandatory for both customer and driver.
     
  • Public transport runs at normal frequency and with normal capacity. On trains, busses, trams and in the stations it is compulsory to wear a face mask.
     
  • Public toilets are open at the Burg (Brugse Vrije) (Liberty of Bruges), Stadshallen (Belfry halls), 't Zand and Badengebouw in Zeebrugge (31/10-11/11). Toilets in restaurants and cafés are not open to the public for non-clients.
     
  • The tourist information offices are closed. 
     
  • Events: There will be no more events from 29 October 2020 until at least 19 November 2020.
