On Saturday 1st of October, famous chocolatier Dominique Persoone opened the completely renewed and expanded Chocolate Line on The Simon Stevin Square in Bruges.
Tourists and locals were eagerly waiting to explore the new interior. The store has more than doubled in size and looks very trendy.
A chocolate expedition safari jeep built against the wall is clearly an eyecatcher. The refurbished shop follows the process from cocoa bean to chocolate, by a large see-through wall.
Dominique Persoone is an innovator in the world of chocolat. He has an extensive knowledge of gastronomic in combination with scientific findings, such as food pairing.
Dominique became famous for his chocolate snuff machine, the chocolate shooter, which he developed for the birthday party of Rolling Stone Ron Wood and Charlie Watts. Persoone made a large range of chocolate creations such as chocolate lipstick, chocolate paint and chocolate massage cream.
Dominique Persoone is a member of The Fat Duck thinktank, the creative think tank of Heston Blumenthal, chef of the third best restaurant in the world. He also cooperates closely with Albert Adrià, chef of the second best restaurant in the world, El Bulli.
He is also president of the Guild of the Bruges Chocolatiers. Because of his incomparible knowledge of chocolate and his endless creativity, he is often invited by national and international media to talk about chocolate.
The Chocolate Line has its own Cacao plantation in Yucatan, Mexico.
